Body

Preferred Password Reset Method (Recommended)

Microsoft allows you to securely reset your password using your existing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) methods.

Steps

  1. Open a web browser and go to:
    https://www.office.com

  2. Select Sign in.

  3. Select "Can't access your account?".

  4. When asked what type of account you are recovering, make sure to select:
    Work or school account

⚠️ This step is important — do not select “Personal account”.

  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to verify your identity using your configured MFA method, such as:

    • Microsoft Authenticator app

    • Text message (SMS)

    • Phone call

  6. Once verification is complete, create a new password when prompted.

  7. Sign in again using your new password.

After Resetting Your Password

  • Your new password will be used for:

    • Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Office apps)

    • Digital Backpack resources

    • Other connected campus systems

  • It may take a few minutes for the new password to sync across all services.
